问题描述
如果 Windows 2000 操作系统没有安装 Service Pack 3 （或更新版本），那么在用某些版本的阵列配置工具 Array Configuration Utility-ACU 对动态卷进行逻辑盘的扩展后，可能导致其上数据不可识别和访问。
问题发生后，如果打开磁盘管理器，可能找不到原逻辑卷，或者该逻辑卷变成 ”foreign” 状态。如果试图导入 import 该卷，会产生如下报错：
INTERNAL Error – Disk group has no valid configuration copies
另外在 Windows 资源管理器中也看不到盘符或者不能访问。
影响范围
操作系统是 Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 以前版本。并且阵列卡的 firmware 版本早于以下列出的版本：
• Smart Array 5300 – firmware 早于 Revision 2.86
• Smart Array 5304 – firmware 早于 Revision 2.86
• Smart Array 5312 – firmware 早于 Revision 2.04
• Smart Array 532 – firmware 早于 Revision 2.04
• Smart Array 5i – firmware 早于 Revision 2.04
• Smart Array Cluster Storage Controller – firmware 早于 Revision 1.56
• MSA1000 Controller – firmware 早于 Revision 2.26
解决办法
升级 ACU for Windows 的版本到 6.0.5 .0 （或更新）。升级阵列卡的 firmware 到本文要求的版本，以提供对 6.0.5.0 （或更新）版本的 ACU 的逻辑盘扩展的最大支持性能。
下载 6.0.5 .0 版本的 ACU ，文件名 CP002597 ：

特别说明：如果 ACU 版本早于 6.0.5 .0 ，或者阵列卡的 firmware 早于上面要求的版本，那么不能在 Windows 2000 下对动态卷所在的逻辑盘进行扩展。但是，如果安装了 Service Pack 3 （或更新），那么以下 2 种操作可以安全进行：
• 逻辑盘作为基本卷
• 逻辑盘作为动态卷，但是硬盘是在其“原始”状态下（例如，从来没有在其他服务器上使用，或者作为其他阵列中的硬盘），并且自从该逻辑盘从基本卷转化成动态卷以来，这是第一次进行阵列扩展。
情况 1 ： 阵列卡没有提供支持动态卷阵列扩展的 firmware 可升级，那么在执行阵列扩展时提示：
Warning!
Extension is not currently supported under Linux.
Extension may not be supported on Windows 2000 with the current array controller.
If the operating system for this logical drive is Windows 2000 and this logical drive contains dynamic disks, Windows 2000 may not be able to recognize the logical drive after extension and prevent you from accessing your data. However, if this logical drive is using physical drives that have only been used in the current configuration and no other configuration, extension will work properly if you are using Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later.
If the operating system for this logical drive is Windows 2000 and this logical drive contains only basic disks, extension will work properly.
Click OK to continue. Otherwise, click Cancel to exit this task.
情况 2 ： 如果阵列卡的 firmware 已经升级，但是 Windows 2000 没有安装 Service Pack 3 （或更新），那么在执行阵列扩展时提示如下：

Extension may not be supported on Windows 2000 unless Service Pack 3 is installed.
If the operating system for this logical drive is Windows 2000 and this logical drive contains dynamic disks, Windows 2000 may not be able to recognize the logical drive after extension and prevent you from accessing your data. However, extension will work properly with dynamic disks if you are using Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later.
If the operating system for this logical drive is Windows 2000 and this logical drive contains only basic disks, extension will work properly.

情况 3 ： 阵列卡有支持动态卷阵列扩展功能的 firmware ，但是目前没有升级到那个版本，那么在执行阵列扩展时提示如下：

Extension may not be supported on Windows 2000 unless Service Pack 3 is installed and you upgrade your array controller firmware.
If the operating system for this logical drive is Windows 2000 and this logical drive contains dynamic disks, Windows 2000 may not be able to recognize the logical drive after extension and prevent you from accessing your data. However, extension will work properly with dynamic disks if you are using Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later and you upgrade your array controller firmware to version <0fwversion> or later.
If the operating system for this logical drive is Windows 2000 and this logical drive contains only basic disks, extension will work properly.

如果使用 2.90.65.0 版本的 ACU for Windows 2000 执行阵列扩展，出现如下提示：
You have requested to perform extension on this logical drive. Extension is not currently supported on Windows 2000. If the operating system for this logical drive is Windows 2000, please do not attempt to use this feature, as data-loss could occur. Are you sure you want to continue?
Answering "Yes" to the above question may risk the possibility of data corruption under Windows 2000 if extension is performed on a dynamic disk without the correct firmware revision on the controller and without the correct service pack installed.
